Weekending | Football, Halloween, Toddler Moment

How is it already November?? I was just reminding myself that I needed to return a shirt I bought back in September, but in my mind I've only had it about 2 weeks. Sigh. Fall has just flown by and it still feels like summer here! Sidenote... I hope I can still return my shirt. :( I bought it from a local boutique, never washed it and went to wear it (because clearly I had nothing else to wear in my closet full of clothes.. right?) when I noticed two holes in the sleeves like where your thumb would be, and a few more tiny holes in the seems on the arms. The sleeves were rolled when I tried it on and I unrolled it to wear as a long sleeve, noticing the holes then. I have no tags and the receipt was sent via text and I know I no longer have it. I hope they can do something about it.

Back to what this post was really about... Weekending. Linking up with Biana.
Friday night we had a game that would secure us a spot in the playoffs if we won. Kick off was at 7:30 but Tate's brother and his wife (my best friend), Skyler and Rachel, were coming into town and were running late. Rachel is pregnant and was hungry so we opted to miss kick off and eat pizza. We showed up late and not 5 minutes after we got there it started raining. We piled our umbrellas to keep us mostly dry but water was running down my umbrella and the left side of my leg and butt were soaked. How nice! It started raining harder right at halftime but the other teams band went on out to perform and just as soon as Ballinger's band made their way out there, they called for lightning delay. Each lightning strike that is closer than 8 miles (I think) calls for a 15 minute delay. Second half was to start at 9:30. We live less than a mile from the stadium so Rachel and I decided we were going to go home and change into dry clothes and be back for the start of the second half.  After getting changed, Brylee started to get super sleepy and super cranky so we just decided we wouldn't go back and started to go through B's baby things for Rachel to take back with her. I was texting one of the other coach's fiance when she informed me the game was postponed until Saturday at 2. Awesome. We had big plans to go to Odessa and surprise our parents but now weren't sure how that would go.

Saturday rolled around and we had a very lazy morning. Skyler and Rachel left for Dallas so it was just me and Brylee. She did a lot of reading and I cleaned and watched TV. I had to take a picture of how she was reading....or more so of what she did when she finished with a book. It's so like me.

My OCD-ness. I thrive on things going in order. Example: If I'm using highlighters, they 'line up' and I use one, put it at the end of the line, use the next, and so on. I did this growing up too; blocks, crayons, etc. I do it now... nail polish, highlighters (work and school), books. Most people don't get it but I know I'm not the only person out there that does this. It made my heart happy to see that B was doing it. Most of the time she is just like Tate, but moments like this definitely make her my daughter.

We started getting ready about 12:30 and were back up at the stadium around 1:50. Saying B loves her rain boots would be a complete understatement. She's obsessed. She would wear them everyday if she could. Today it happened to be very wet from the night before, so she was thrilled to wear them again. They are just from Walmart, but girlfriend doesn't care. She loves them. Many people make comments to her about her boots and she simply replies with 'you can't have them' no matter what their comment is.

And there's Tate doing his thing. He absolutely loves what he does. While I wonder constantly what I'm supposed to do with my life as far as a career goes, this is exactly what Tate was meant to do.

The game ended with a great big Bearcat win, 41-7. YAY! We're going to the playoffs. We were finished by 3 and decided to go ahead and go to Odessa. It was a HUGE surprise for all our parents. I wish I had videos of both, but it was priceless. I failed when it came to taking pictures, but here is my adorable black cat.

We were up bright and early Sunday because we had to be back in Ballinger by 8 for Tate to game plan for this Friday's game. While he did that Brylee and I went to San Angelo to get some last minute things for the baby shower and go to the grocery store. We went to Dillards first and tried on some pants. This girl is growing super fast and all 2T things are getting short on her. Cheers for adjustable waistbands. My girl in 3T, be still my heart.

We shopped around the mall for a few things. I needed some candles from Bath and Body Works and I scored a great deal on my mom's Christmas present. I'm so excited about it. If I knew she didn't read this, I'd gladly share my findings with you. I will share my candles, though. They are the best. :)

Target was our next stop for gift wrapping things and that's where the melt down happened. Toddler Moment. Oh how I just love a 2 year old melt down over a Palace Pet's pony. She is obsessed with these things but a birdie told me she was getting them for her birthday and poor girl just doesn't like the word no. If you're not aware of the lovely Palace Pets, they are the pet's of the Disney Princesses. A huge hit at our house.

At this point I decided we weren't going to the grocery store and I wasn't cooking. We checked out at Target, screaming toddler and all, and headed to Rosas for dinner. I'm not even a huge Rosa's fan but Tate and B love it so I caved. It was terrible. They were out of rice, didn't give us our extra tortillas, and the queso was abnormally spicy so that made B even more upset. Can't win all the time.

Tate got finished around 8:30.. yes he worked 8-8:30 all for the love of the game. It's like this every day almost. He ate, we went to bed hoping for a better day today. More on that tomorrow.

Happy Monday and November my friends,
Leah :)

I have tried and tried to get my pictures to center and it's driving be up the wall that they wont! Lovely.

May 7, 2015

Oh hey, May!

7 days later! Ha! I decided in April that I would do an 'Every Hour On the Hour' on the first of every month. I tried. I really tried. I reminded myself on Thursday that I needed to take pictures every hour and even set an alarm. I was so excited to do another month and guess what, I forgot! So instead of doing an every hour post, I figured I'd just do a weekend recap. Makes sense now that is four days past the weekend, right? Scratch that, this is a Life Lately post with May goals.

Let's back up a little bit... I got in so late Wednesday night and didn't plug my phone in to charge so it died in the middle of the night. I woke up late on Thursday, was supposed to have my dog to the groomer by 8 (at this point, yeah right!) and then headed to meet Tate to look at houses in San Angelo by 10.

I woke up at 9:30. Called the groomer and was told to bring her at 10:30. Called Tate and we decided that since either no realtor wanted to talk to me or they didn't have anything available it would be a wasted trip to drive there if I didn't have any homes to look at. So, I got ready super quick, had Dustee to the groomer right at 10:30 and met Stormi and Jackson for lunch at one of my favorites, Casa Ole!
These two seriously missed each other and neither of them could decide what side of the booth to sit on.
When the food finally made it they had to sit right next to each other to eat.
After lunch I had to run a few errands. I went to Dillards to get Tate a tie and a wedding gift. While they were wrapping my gifts I decided to go get my mom and Janis (Tate's mom) a Mother's Day gift since we won't be there for that. Next was Target to get a wedding card and Mother's day cards. While I went to Target I decided to track my steps...haha I cracked up at this. Considering I was at Target about 15 minutes before I started tracking, I'd say I walked about 3/4 mile just walking around.
My sister planned on having a BBQ at her house that night so we met her at Walmart to get my mom a cake and some flowers. These two fought over who was going to hold the cake and at one point even had it open. Crazy kids.
Friday morning I met Janis and Tate's aunt, Detra, for lunch and then to help decorate the church. Brylee practiced being a flower girl and played the piano while singing. It went right in with her reading the Hymns at Tate's other cousin's wedding rehearsal in March.
That night at rehearsal these two did so good! Although neither one would look at the camera at the same time, nothing new. These two missed each other so much also. They really stick up for each other and I hope that is something they will always do.

Wedding day as arrived! Janis and I went to a brunch with the bride that morning and then to finish up some last minute details at the church while Brylee got some one on one time with Tate. He got her to take a nap (sweet princess wouldn't have been so sweet at this wedding without one) and then we got her ready.
She was super concerned about the glitter that got on her hands. Ha!
These two had so much fun at the wedding. They are seriously some dancing fools! Rachel and Skyler's wedding here, Lance and Lyndsey's wedding here, and Ross and Lauren's wedding here:
I don't think they stopped once, unless it was for a Play-doh break. :) The next day B was telling me her feet 'were broken' from all the dancing.
I got my phone out to take a picture and Tate did this. Typical him.
But I was able to get a good one. I'm so glad I get to do life with him.
Sunday morning Mickey Mouse while I got ready and loaded up the car to make our long trip back home.
My mom's house is on our way out and she kept our dogs for me. I went by her house to get them and my sister was working outside in their yard. Brylee was excited to ride the tractor with Uncle Jack.
Finally, we are home and the packing extravaganza has begun.
Brylee is just as much help today as she was 9 months ago!
May Goals:

1. Find a house and pack: We still haven't found a house. We've Tate has looked at a few and hasn't been impressed with any of them. Some seemed to be great houses online until you actually get in the house. As far as packing goes, I'm slowly getting things done. The office, half of the closet, and decor in the bedrooms, dining room and kitchen are packed. It's harder packing this time because I have no help with Brylee. I pack up one room and she tears up another.

2. Find a job: I'm looking and there are quite a bit of options for me but my dilemma is not knowing when I'll be moving. I haven't applied for any, but that is my plan for this week and hopefully someone is willing to work with me.

3. School for Brylee: I've got it narrowed down to three different pre-schools that I want to check out. Fingers crossed one of them is perfect for her.

4. Pediatricians, dentists, etc.: This was an issue we had here in McAllen. With us not knowing anybody there were no 'word of mouth' references for anybody. When we finally did meet someone with kids their pediatrician wasn't accepting new patients or they didn't have an opening for 4 months. I know a few more people in San Angelo with kids so I'm hoping I won't have that same problem there.

5. Don't skip a TIU day: I'm very proud of myself that I haven't skipped but a couple Tone It Up workouts and meals. Being back home for a wedding was a little challenging but I didn't do too bad. Six more weeks to go for their Bikini Series challenge.

6. Plan a vacation: With us moving it needs to be something small and fairly cheap. We moved in August and Tate left in July so we haven't had any kind of date or trip since last summer when we went to Lajitas. We're due for another one, I'm just not sure what yet.

7. Amber's BBQ Shower: Along with moving, I'm planning a 'sprinkle' too. My cousin decided that since this was baby #3 we would just do something small. I saw ideas on Pinterest for a "Baby-Q" so we are doing a Backyard Barbeque at her house. I'm so excited for baby Westen! :)

Happy Thursday, y'all!

Weekending | The Absolute Best Day

But seriously! Saturday was the absolute best day! This entire weekend was great. Backtrack to  Friday. Tate had an early release day so he came home for lunch then had to go back for a track meet. Brylee and I watched movies and ate popcorn. It was a perfect night with B. Saturday. That quote pretty much sums it up. We didn't do anything extravagant, yet it was simply perfect! Maybe because it was Valentine's Day, or maybe just because we had one day to ourselves with zero plans. We had breakfast and I gave my loves their little gifts from me. We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant that I've been dying to try, Costa Messa. It was delicious! Hearts, flowers and balloons everywhere; Brylee loved it! We ran a couple errands and came back home for Brylee to take her nap. Tate ended up also taking advantage of a nap and I enjoyed some me time with my love of reality TV. :) After their nap we took a walk to the park down the street. Brylee had a hay day and he'd be lying if Tate said he didn't like sliding. The pictures may be blurry, but that smile is perfectly clear!

Tate may have taught her some bad things by climbing up the slide and sliding down backwards!

Miss Independent.

We came back home, cooked burgers on the grill at Tate's request. We laughed, danced, talked, played and laughed some more.
While I put B to bed Tate went off to get us 'something'. I picked out my favorite movie, Sweet Home Alabama, and Tate showed up with this:

Yum! I mentioned earlier in the week that I reallllly wanted a pickle juice snowcone and he went to get us one. They are my favorite! I like the sweet stuff, like Tate's blue coconut back there near that lovely mixed bouquet of pink roses, but I never venture away from my signature one. It was the icing on top of a perfect day!

Sunday was full of a little lunch,  grocery shopping, more park fun and a whole lot of laziness in between. I made chicken fried steaks for dinner and we settled down to watch the Bachelor. Andi showed real raw emotion and I believe she is still in love with Josh. I've fully lost interest in Britt. Whitney is the one for Chris, I hope. Carly for Bachelorette. We'll see how tonight plays out. Have a wonderful week blog friends!
